Volunteering

The Trent Lakes Public Library presents an exciting opportunity for adults and teens in Grade 9 and up to make a meaningful impact in the community.

Adults need to commit to 3 hours a week.

Teens need to commit to 1.5 hours a week.

By volunteering, you will not only gain valuable experience and enhance your leadership skills you will engage with the community. Join us in making a difference today!

Teens can earn volunteer hours for high-school.

How to apply

The volunteer application process includes the following three steps:

  • Fill out an application form which is available at your local library branch and drop it off at the Library. We accept applications year-round. We will contact you after we review your application.
  • Come in for an interview.
  • Complete a Criminal Records Check with the Peterborough County OPP Detachment (instructions will be provided upon acceptance). Volunteers working with children or seniors will be required to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check as well.
