Trent Lakes Public Library has established a dedicated section in both branches as part of our efforts to challenge homophobia and transphobia while fostering an environment that is inclusive of gender identity and gender expression.
People who identify as LGBTQ often experience barriers to accessing necessary services due to discrimination or harassment. The “coming-out” process can be a critical time for families. The library has access to the internet for research as well as a dedicated collection that focuses on the LGBTQ community. Our print material includes information books, biographies and autobiographies, as well as fiction books with LGBTQ characters. For more information, please come to the library or call us at 705-657-3695.
