Donations
Trent Lakes Public Library is an active and valued cornerstone of the community. Donations from individuals, groups, and organizations allow Trent Lakes Public Library to enhance service offerings. Funds may be used to upgrade equipment, refurbish branches, purchase specialty resources, or expand services and programs.
Much of Trent Lakes Public Library's operating budget is funded by the Municipality of Trent Lakes; however, to meet the growing needs of the community, additional support is required. Trent Lakes Public Library is a registered non-profit organization. Financial gifts of $25.00 or more are tax deductible.
Make a Donation
1. In person – Drop by the library and we will happily get your information for a tax receipt for donations of $25 or more.
2. By Mail – Send your complete mailing information along with your cheque to:

Tributes and Memorials
A tribute or memorial gift allows you to honour a loved one, friend, or colleague in a unique and heartfelt way. The Library will send a card acknowledging your gift to the individual or group being honoured. If it is a memorial gift, the Library will send the card to the designated family.
If you wish to make a tribute or memorial gift, please indicate the dedication.
Book and Material Donations
Trent Lakes Public Library accepts materials donations, including art, photographic works, equipment, toys, or other in-kind gifts or services.
Donations are only accepted during branch open hours. Please do not leave donations outside of the library.
The Library is currently not accepting donations of books, magazines, or A/V material (i.e. DVDs, audio CDs).
What you need to know:
Branches only accept material that can be resold. Donated items must meet the following criteria:
- Material must be in very good condition and less than two years old
- Only English and French books will be accepted. For books, we prefer popular fiction and nonfiction in hardcover, mass market and trade paperbacks
- Any other material, including magazines, computer books, textbooks, encyclopedias and multilingual material will not be accepted by staff
If your materials don't meet these criteria, please consider donating them to other non-profit organizations.
